till my due date. Actually I am hoping baby will arrive before that! We'll see what Doc has to say tomorrow afternoon.

The nursery is almost done. Maybe baby is waiting for that!? Kurt just has to finish staining the diaper change table. He did an amazing job on the crib dont you think?My wonderful friends threw me an awesome shower last week, and you would not believe how much stuff we got for our baby girl! I have never seen so much pink! I love it!

Mason could not beleive his eyes when I got home with all this stuff. Then he was even happier to find a few things for him! He loves his Big Brother books and new puzzle! But best of all I think he loves the new stroller.

New kit
So I have rather slowly been working on a new baby (digital scrapbooking) kit. As usual I enjoyed creating the papers, but am struggling a bit with the elements. I did take a break to create these Baby Announcements. (Please note all with fake names and details.)
I am still busy finishing up post processing on the wedding photos, so that should be done soon. My sister told me she got her wedding guest book that I had made and sent. You can take a snak peek HERE if you like. Less than 2 weeks till her wedding, and we cannot wait to be apart of that day! Been Busy!
But busy is good, isn't it?! 25 weeks pregnant, and feeling pretty good. I'll be standing in my sister's wedding in just 3 weeks, and got to try on the dress today. It is beautiful! And better yet, it FITS! lol.
So I went out of town last weekend to shoot a wedding, and it was the first time I left Mason! Boy did I miss him!
Before I left town I did a few head shots for a friend of mine, here.

And here are a few from the wedding...The day was beautiful, the Bride and Groom easy going, the scenery perfect! I really had alot of fun with this bunch!

Time for a quick game of catch-up!

Where to begin? Still enjoying every minute with Mason. Expecting #2 in November! -There is some big news for you! Kinda trying to prepare Mason for the baby, but so far he still thinks there is a baby in his belly...

Finally getting my photography website up and running very soon!

We have been keeping busy around the house, enjoying the weather, beach and outdoors. Kurt is working on the back fence. It will be so nice when that is done and we can fully enjoy the backyard!

Mason chats up a storm now, which makes us laugh all the time! So far no real bad words, but I am sure its just a matter of time before he picks one up!

I go for my 18 week ultrasound next week at which time we will hopefully find out what we are having! I am soo excited and cannot wait to find out! I am totally fine either way I just want ot know so I can get prepared! I have so many neat nursery ideas. First I will have to do up a new and exciting room for Mason, move him over to it, then work on the nursery. I shoudl really be getting on that I guess, as 2 rooms might take a bit of time, adn I only have 5 months.

My sister and brother-in-law (yes thats is right he is already my brother-in-law) are getting married in September in Ottawa! We are all very excited and cant wait for the big day. I have been busy making their invitations, stag tickets, programs, ordering dresses etc. I love Kelly's dress, colors - EVERYTHING. I just cant imagine how beautiful it will all be when it all comes together for the big day! Mason is going to be the most handsome ring bearer. This will be his second time, so he should be a pro at it this time! I will be 7 months pregnant in the wedding and taking the photos - but hopefully I will be feeling ok! I have had another rough pregnancy, but I am starting to feel much, much better now (still on medication).

Here is my idea for the nursery, mind you the colors may change slightly depending on the gender! Now to hunt for ideas for Masons room. I am thinking either, trucks, or sports even though he would love Spiderman, I am afraid he will grow out of it too quickly!

March...

...already! Where does the time go? Only 2 days till my 30th Birthday!?! YIKES! After wishing an old highschool friend a Happy Birthday last week, it really got me thinking. I cna remember us (with our birthday's only a week apart) anxiously awaiting our 19th birthdays, and already I am wishing her a Happy 30th! It seems the older I get, the quicker time flys!

Actually 2 other lovely ladies are about to add another year to their age this week in our neighborhood and so to celebrate, we have the Party bus ordered to take us to Ranchmans. I don't know if I will be riding the mechanical bull, but it should be a memoriable time I am sure!

I just wish that my sister was here to join us.

So to catch up, we had a wonderful trip to Ottawa a few weeks ago. It was so nice to see everyone again!

We were lucky to have Mason's Pop here to celebrate Easter with us last weekend. Too bad Mason was sick and not himself, and now I hear Pop is sick in the bed instead of hard at work!

Just when I thought there was nothing Mason needs or does not have, Pop picked him up this, scooter with 4 wheels. He LOVES it! Thanks Pop and Gramma!

Big Fan

Instead of taking his usual nap today, Mason entertained himself in his room. So after a couple of hours, I went in, and when I did I had an idea. He and I gathered up all his Cars stuff, I grabbed the camera, and my new "natural" studio light. It was time to test it out, and hopefully get a great shot of Masons first favorite movie/toys... Now that I think about it there was still more Cars things I could have put in there! Rather crazy that they make so much of this stuff isn't it? All in all, I think it will be great to look back on, when he gets older!

I am so proud of this little boy. I have been taking him to the babysitting at the gym off and on since he was six months. He has never been a fan. Well, knock on wood, the last 2 days he has went in without tears or a bottle! I am just so proud of him, yet so sad that he is growing so independent. He continues to amaze me daily with his speech, humor, and wit.

SANTA TAKE 2

We took Mason to the mall Santa yesterday. To my surprise he actually didn't mind a visit with the big man again. It's the same Santa we took him to last year. I love this one and the wonderful set up they have there. Is it just me, or does he look allot older than 2 here? Crazy! My little boy is growing up before my eyes, that is for sure. He brings a smile to each of our faces everyday and ensures the house is full of laughter! He is so much fun and we are enjoying it to the fullest! We had our A.B.C. (Block Party) Christmas party last night. What a great time! I just cant beleive the holidays are almost here. I still wish we were going to Newfoundland, but what can you do? Sure would be nice to see everyone there, and let everyone get to know Mason!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Our house is decorated, inside and out. Gifts are sent and shopping is almost done. Presents are wrapped, we have wrote a letter to Santa and paid him a visit.

Don't you just love the holidays? So busy yet so fun!

This year Mason was not such a big fan of the big man in a red suit. He didn't mind checking him out from a far but wanted nothing to do with sitting on his lap! Can't blame him I guess.

I just finally did up Mason's letter to Santa and will have to send it today!

It looks as though it will be another Christmas in Calgary this year. We played with the idea of going to Newfoundland just a little too late this year. We will miss everyone there, and hope to get there for a visit soon! A few of our friends here have expressed some interest in going there, so we may look at a trip for Marystown Home Coming Year! What better time for people to visit Newfoundland! Get screeched in during the George Street Festival, maybe a boat tour, and experience their way of life.

I still have not got to my holidays cards and so I am thinking I might not being doing any this year?! Can you imagine! I just cant throw our name on a card, when for the last few years I have always designed one! Maybe I can grab a family photo tonight. I think we are going to go to "Zoo Lights". Suppose to be quite the light show!

Went to the enmax Christmas party last weekend and saw very close up Great Big Sea! What an amazing show!

Last night we saw Bon Jovi! I feel like Christmas has come early! I totally loved Bon Jovi's performance!

Take a walk...

It's a beautiful Fall like day here in Calgary, and so I decided to pack up and go for a walk at one of the parks. By pack up of course I mean get the camera ready, Mason and myself. My Mom joined us today too, and took some photos of her own. I wasn't overly impressed with my photos today. I was too lazy to change lens or put on a filter, and Mason was way to active to really capture much. We had a lovely walk however, and Mason was good and tired in time for a nap!

I also took a few pictures last week at a friend's Daughter's 1st Birthday.

My Little Boy is 2!

And he is a boy not a baby. When did this happen? Did I capture it in photos or on video? Everyone knows I take alot of photos, but I really dont know when my boy grew up so much. He offically turned Two on Tuesday, but we celebrated his Birthday on the 16th, with his Grandparents from Newfoundland and his Aunt and Ucle/Godparents from Ontario. He was just so excited to wake up from his nap to a "cars" fill house. Balloons, posters, wall and window stickers, cupcakes, giftwrap, presents, and even a McQueen pinata! It was a decked out Car's themed party and it was a hit! It was so much fun watching him open his gifts with such delight. What a perfect age. I have to say our

friends and family were extremely generous! His room is now fully Cars. He has the wall and window decalls, posters, light switch cover, toddler bedding, shelves, bookends, clothes hangers, stop light lamp, slippers, pj's, sweater, race track, stuffed toys, bath towel, wash clothe, dinner tray.... I know there is lots out there, but I tell you he has plenty! And he still loves it all. How long though I wonder until he moves on to something else? He will likely never have as much stuff in the future for something he likes, but how could we resist his first realy love of a movie and it's characters at such a young age? All the kids seemed to enjoy theirselves, first building and painting their own wooden car. Then helping open the presents, and of course try them out. Batting at hte pinata and then enjoying all the goodies that fell out of it. Since then we had to say goodbye to Mason's Grammy and Poppy, after their wonderful 2 week vacation here, and as well to his Aunt Kelly and Uncle Andy after their 10 day stay.

Mason is picking up new words just about everyday and "Pop" for "poppy" is one that has stuck. He hears his voice or see's his picture and happily says "pop!" Now to get ready for Halloween, one of my favorite times of the year!

September

Where did Summer go? Things have cooled down here in Calgary, not that I mind. I happen to love Fall weather. Not to mention winters here are nothing like winters in Ottawa.

So ya, it's been a while since my last post. Even longer since I have posted on a regualr basis. But I am back. I am not sure if I will keep busy designing in my spare time. (spare time, what is that?) But I am putting alot more into my photography. I have been hearing for years, people tell me I could be doing it for a living. Imagine, doing something I truly love and making money at it! We'll see....

So my Mom made the big move here to Calgary. I am so proud of her. To pack everything up, and take a chance on a whole new life, in a new province, to be closer to her grandson. Luckily she is loving it, and so are we! Mason's other grandparents will also be here for a 2 week visite as of tonight! Grammy and Pappy are comming all the way from Newfoundland to see their little boy! Speaking of that little boy, can you believe he will be 2 this month? The changes I have seen in him lately are amazing! I just love him more and more each day.

HOT HOT HOT

The Walsh's have been enjoying Summer to it's fullest, which may help to explain my lack of postings. We have also been very busy around the house in and outdoors. Its all comming together and looking great. I have been back to the gym and Mason is doing much better at the babysitting. I have been taking lots and lots of pictures and would never be able to upload them all. I will however give you a few sneak peeks. We went to Ottawa for Canada Day weekend, The Calgary Stampede, spending time at the beach, went sea-dooing...All kinds of FUN!

We bought yet another Roof Rite truck, only this time the driver wont be on the payroll. Mason cruises the street advertising his Daddy's company lol.

So people have been so kindly asking how Stu (our 3 year old pup) is doing. I really appreciate all your thoughts! I have some good news to share. As we tried him on a sort of new "drug" with a very small percent chance it would put his cancer into remission. As it turns out, the specialist is shocked himself and says that Stu's cancer is 100% gone. We are to keep him on the chemo. for 2 more months, but the doc does not think surgery is necessary! Now to just cross our fingers that his body is able to fight off all other cancer cells. The Doctor is going to be writing about it in vet. journals.
All is well with the Walshs. We are absoluetly LOVING our new home and community. There is nothing like having private lake access just a few foot steps away. Kurt took his first weekend off in a while, and we all really enjoyed some down time. We spent most of the weekend at the lake with a bunch of our neighbors.
I am sort of taking a break from designing alot this Summer, but I did however manage to create a kit to give away - starting tomorrow, at Digitals as I am FEATURED DESIGNER!!!

STILL HERE..

And all is well. I just have not been spending much time at my computer here at the new house. Perhaps its the set up, the smaller desk, the weather or just lack of time. I am working from home now and sure dont find enough time in the day. I am itching to scrap some pages! Its been months! I start some designs but never get around to finishing them. life is busy, isnt it? I am enjoying it though. Mason is so much fun right now! I am so very happy to have a wonderful husband and little boy. Each day they amaze me in the things they do.
I hopped onto the facebook craze and that tend to be where I spend the few minutes I have on the computer a day. It's been fun catching up with old friends!

Settling in

As some of you have noticed I have been MIA for a while. Packing and moving and now unpacking. We are nicely settling into our brand new home and loving it! Super neighbors, great community, amazing location, I could go on! The perfect place for our family. We still have tons to do, but we can relax a bit now. Here are some snapshots of our home taken just before moving all of our stuff in. Once we are completely settled I will take some more pictures.

Poor Mason just has not been himself since the move. We have had a few nearly sleepless nights now. He has been waking up screaming and does not stop for hours at a time. It has been rough on all of us.
Here are a few shot of him at his last day of Gym and Stories at the YMCA. He walks around with either a ball or a hockey stick in his hand constantly. He does not like to give them up either.

In my small amount of space time I have been having fun on "facebook". Have you got on the facebook bandwagon? It's so much fun. I have got in touch with so many old friends. I am really looking forward to North's highschool reunion in October...

Has it seriously been that long since I posted. I wont bore you with any excuses. the weather is getting nice here, bring on Spring! I am still a little sore today, gave my legs too good of a workout the other day, and been feeling it ever since. Suppose to go to Y-Bo tonight. That should be interesting and painful right now. I have been working on creating a "Mason's First Year" book. I kept track of everything, but just in different places. So I am going through all my photos, notes etc. to compile this book before he gets much older and I totally forget everything! I am creating it with Picaboo! It's so much fun! Stuie is still not so well. I really had my hopes up when it appeared as though his tumor was almost completely gone. I was so happy, then only 2 days later it was bigger than ever! Later that same day I found one of his chemo. pills on the floor! He went 5 days without the chemo, which caused his nose to imflame again. Its smaller again now.

Mase, my little busy body has been a little temermental the last little while. Growing, teething, becomming independent - call it what you like, it can make for difficult shopping trips sometimes! He is signing more and more but still is not one of many words. It is starting to worry me a bit. We went for a walk the other day, (Mason, Noelle and I). We have a double leash for the two dogs but I could only handle one with Mason walking beside me. so Mason wanted to walk her. He would hold part of the leash and I the main handle. He was so proud and kept stopping and signing "dog" as best he could (smacking his leg, and lifting his arm while saying what sounded like "dot") throughout the whole walk. Then he saw a big dog in someones back yard and again stopped and signed dog. I am so proud of him. So currently he signs..
Mom, Dad, milk, drink, eat, bath, toothbrush, more, ball, no, dog, hello, goodbye, hot, quiet, book, and change.

I am moving at the end of the month and we still are not sure where!?!? One minute we are renting and bulilding, then just buying.....all I do know is we are running out of time!

So I was able to create a few things yesterday. I started with the alpha, but was having so much fun with it I just kept going and made these frames. You can find them here at digitals. I was so excited about them that I started a LO with it all myself, but I can't show you until it's done!

I think we are going to venture on to the zoo again today. SO you can be sure there will be more pictures soon!

CARS, GYM and MILESTONES

Mason just can't get enough of his movie "Cars", and I have to say, even after watching it over 20 times now I still love it! It was especially handy when we took our 3 hour trip to Edmonton last weekend. Pop it in the DVD player, and he was fine. He is starting to master the stairs now. He prefers to walk holding someones hand down half the stairs until he gets to the rods and then he hold them and does it himself. When he gets to the bottom he claps his sweet little hand and does a victory lap with his arms in the air! He is just getting too big. he puts on everyone's shoes or slippers (if they are out) as well and trys to walk in them.
Things are still not so well when I take him to the babysitting at the gym. Saturday he lasted 50 minutes before getting upset, and Sunday well.....Daddy came in to drop him off with me and as we were leaving he said "bye, bye buddy" instead of just sort of sneaking out. Well that did not go over so well. He came running and crying then stood at the glass and watched us walk away. It was too much for Daddy. He felt bad and wanted to go back and get him. I headed up to the gym while Daddy waited out side the babysitting room to see if he would be ok. After 10 minutes he said, he went back in to get him. :) So they spent the morning together, which was nice for them and I got to work out without worrying if he was ok this time, which was awesome for me!
The new equipment at our gym is super cool! Get this, just about every piece of cardio equipment has its own tv screen on it. No need to choose between a show and the gym anymore! I love it! It's not as easy to watch on the treadmill, but the bike it's perfect.

TIME FOR AN UPDATE...

I have simply dreaded loggin on here and posting. It has been another rough week, and I was not ready to write about it. Stuart Little (my 3 year old pup) went to the specialist on Tuesday. It was not good. After our first meeting, I went straight out to the truck as I could not be in there anymore. I sat in the truck and just dried. Kurt came out a while after to give me a few options. The best option was far out of our budgete. Basically $1500 that day for pictures and tests. Fly him to Saskatoon, and about $2000 for Radiation treatment. Then if he still required surgery it would be around another $2000. And after all that, still no guarantee. Cancer is an evil thing! Since he is so young, some seem to think that is to his advantage, but it is not! When someone gets cancer at an older age, it is usually because of an environmental reason. When they get it at a younger age, it is usually genetic, meaning something is wrong with his body and it is not building the antibodies to fight the cancer. So sad. So at the end of it (after about an hour in the truck by myself) Kurt came out with another option. It wont get rid of the cancer, but could slow it down or at best even put it into remission. Chemotherapy.

We went for that option. He went for blood work the next day, and to their surprise and ours the blood work came back great, not showing cancer at all. Unfortunately that does not mean he does not have it, as he does have a mast cell tumor. But it means his body is not recognizing it, and is otherwise healthy. So now he is taking Chemo. pills daily for 2 weeks at which time he goes back to have his blood checked to see if it is working at all. So please, pray, send good vibes or even cross your fingers and toes for us. I just cant bare to loose him right now. No one makes Mason light up the same as he does. They play everyday. Stuart even started giving him the ball last week. Usually he would pass it to us (an adult) and we would have to give it to Mason to throw. Now Stuie brings it and drops it off to Mason. It's so cute! I took a few pictures of Stu and Noelle today.

So other than that nothing else to report really.

I was approached by a company who wanted purchase a few of my designs for commercial use. So that is pretty exciting. I will fill you in more when I can.

CLOSE CALL

Today as I was taking Mason to his swimming lessons, I had to quickly swerve and come to a stop in the middle of the road as someone was passing by. It was a little boy not much older than Mason (16 months). He was running across the street in his spider man pjs and sock feet. I ran out and grabbed him just as he was about the cross the other side as a city bus was comming! I think I may have saved his life. I ran him to the home with the open door and once inside he Mom came, all she said is "Oh thanks, I didn't know where he was, with the phone in her hand" and locked the door behind me. I am so thankful I was there, and her Valentines Day was not ruined by a horrible accident. I do know, little ones can very quickly get into something they shouldn't. Mason has just started to reach up to the door knobs, but is not quite able to turn them yet. It is hard enough to keep things out of his reach now!!

So being Valentines Day and all, I have a lovely supper started. I had the steaks marinating all day. I made some cute Valentines Day Cupcakes. Mason just enjoyed one. He liked sucking the icing off the cake lol. I don't think we have any plans other than that. Kurt has not went to "romance school" yet, lol and he does not have a romantic bone in his body, but I still love him :) We are going to Edmonton for the weekend. It is my Brother's 22nd birthday. I am looking forward to racing down those waterslides at the West Edmonton Mall.

I took my youngest dog, Stuart Little, to the vet yesterday for the second time as he still has that lump on his nose. It was not good news. At only 3, he seems to have a tumor, that will need to be removed by a specialist as it is in an awekward spot. (beside his nose). They wont know if it is malignant or not until they remove it and send it away. They will need to remove a large selection of the face, to be sure they got it all. :( My poor little Stu. I am waiting to hear back from the Lab to confirm the results and I will keep you posted.

I cant get over it! It started over a week ago and really has not stopped. Really unusual for Calgary. It looks so pretty and I love the snow really, but around here they dont believe in snow plowing! Just keep your tires on the marks ahead of you and hope for the best?! I am not a fan. I finished up my latest paper pack tonight, so I should be able to give you a peek tomorrow. And the word art is done too. I can tell you the collection is called "playing sick" and is sort of illness/doctor based. I am looking forward to putting it to use if for my recent pictures of Mason and his asthma. Maybe even make a few quick pages with it.
I have yet to reveal the new store I am so exited to be apart of, but soon I tell you, soon!
I just got back from grocery shopping and picking up the boys at the gym and came home to a lovely e-mail from an old friend. My very best friend for at least 9 years, Lisa. We drifted soon after but I have not stopped thinking of her since. It was so great to hear she is doing well and get this, is a photographer. I would love to see some of her work! Maybe she will be going to the highschool reunion too?! It would be so cool to catch up and talk photography! Anyways, off to watch a movie with my sis.....I will just leave you with these photos of Mason and his first popsicle. I cant wait to scrap them!

SNOW MUCH FUN!!

Today was a beautiful sunny but cold day. So we bundled up and went for a walk to go sledding. Mason just loves getting dressed up and going outside. I actually made a LO today of pictures I took today. That has got to be a record.

We also went looking at house today. I am not sure how soon we will be able to buy here, as we still have to sell out Ottawa home first, but we did see some cute homes. I really look forward to painting and making our home a HOME again.

Looks Like...

It might be asthma. They dont like to label children of this age as having asthma nor do they yet know what type it is yet. Some children only have it when they have a cold, so I am crossing my fingers.

I have started a new kit. Sort of having fun with it.

I also finally got ot catch up on the photography challenge. I got week 2 and 4 complete but I will need some help with week 3.

SCRAP TIME

I was in need of some "Scrap time". It really can be therapeutic. I was feeling the need to scrap pictures of my DS. Here is one I just completed of him playing with his Daddy.

I am working on one more right now. This lovely lady Donna, pm'ed me at DST to give me a beautiful love kit to lift my spirits while I am worrying about my DS. Thanks again Donna, it is beautiful and just what I needed! I should be done that LO shortly :)

And now here is Mason's first time with his inhaler.

Ok I just got a scray phone call. The "walk-in" doctor who saw Mason yesterday wants to see him. (Already? It was suppose to take up to 10 days, we just got back from his x-rays!?!?!) I scheduled an appointment for Thursday, and hung up. Then I am afraid. Obviously it's something for them to contact me so soon?!? I called back then as I could not sit and worry until Thursday. The receptionist told me he has some inflamation on his lower lungs and the doctor wants to check it out not to panic. After reading this beautiful blog recently of a family struck by cancer. The 27 year old Mother of 2 just died of Cancer. She found out she had it the day Mason was born and passed away Feb. 4th leaving a loving husband and their 2 young daughters. You can read about it HERE, but I will warn you to get hte tissues!
As a young family myself I really feel for them and their loss. It has not left my mind. I thought what could be worse. Now I know of the one and probably only thing worse then not being there while your children grow up is them not growing up.

TODDLER X-RAYS
I am just getting back from Mason's x-rays. It did not help me feel any better let me tell you. They plunge him into this seat that wraps hard plastic around him with his arms in th air and I told his head up! He was crying and looked so uncomfortable. He kept trying to hold my hand but it was my job to hold his head and protect it. Oh well at least that part is done and we can wait to see what is going on! I also picked up his inhaler and he will try that for the first time tonight. Hopefully it clears him up a bit. Another Mother here in Calgary told me that childhood asthama is common here in Calgary, something to do with the amount of dumps or something? That's it, were moving back to Ontario, lol! If only it were that easy.
I dont have any designs ready to release. I think I am still mourning the ones I lost, lol. Hopefully soon!

BACK TO THE DOCTORS
Since Mason's "broncitis" did not go away with his second type of medicine, today Mason was perscribed an inhaler. I am so saddened at the thought that he too might have asthama. He also has to go for a chest x-ray tomorrow, which will take 10 days to get the results. I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to give him the inhaler as I know of some of the long term effects, after suffering myself. But after some research, I realize I really should give it to him, to prevent any further breathing problesm. And should it be asthama, I do know how it feels to be short of breath and it breaks me heart to think he could be feeling the same. Off to go get it, and then give it to him for the first time tonight. I will have to get out the camera and take a photo. :(

BETTER THAN EVER
I got my computer back this afternoon and it's running better than ever. I try not to think about the hefty bill and all the things that went wrong! I am just happy to be re-installing everything, especially photoshop. Oh and I DID loose everything off my harddrive! That sucks. Like I said before I did back everyhting up a week prior but its amazing how much you can aquire in a week! I just loved that cute "Tough Stuff" kit I made. Maybe someday I will try to recreate it. I will have to get my Mom to send me back a picture or two of it, so I can at least share with you all what I did make, but wont be able to release now :(.
I am just about done loading everything. I was going through a few pictures on cds, when I came across this one.

For those of you that are not familiar with it, it's the Rideau Canal, in Ottawa. The largest skaing surface in the world. It made me a little "home" sick.
Speaking of home, I was so excited the other day when I recieved an email that my highschool is having a reunion in October! I just cannot wait to see everyone again! I wasn't sure if it was going to be a family trip or a girls vacation, but as soon as I contacted my good friend, she cleared me up. GIRLS WEEKEND! Imagine a bunch of "Mothers" together out on their old stomping gorund, living it up. I can't wait!

CRASH

No, noone was in an accident. Unless you count my computer. Yes that is right, my hard drive crashed. I am not 100% sure when I will get my computer back, and I am not exactly looking forward to the bill! But at least when I do it might actually be running better than it was. Lesson to all, BACK EVERYTHING UP. Luckily I did a week ago, but I did still loose alot of stuff. It is amazing what you can aquire in only 1 week. The "geek" said he may be able to retrieve it, but I also said not to spend too much of my $ and his time on it. It just is not worth it as I did back up only a week ago. But still, crossing my fingers. I had 4 items ready to go up into the store, and I may have lost them! That kills me. So I am on DH's new lap top for tonight, just to fill everyone in.
Mason is still not 100%. He went to the doctors on Monday and was told he still had (or again has) broncitis. He is on some new meds, and will be going back tomorrow if he is not better. This worries me. Why is it not going away? He poor little chest is so congested. His sweet little cough. It just breaks my heart.

Flu Season
I know why they call it that, but seriously, is everyone sick right now? Everyone in my house anyways. I can't stand to hear my little boy congested :(.
"The boys" (dh, db, dbil) all went to B.C. skidooing for the weekend. They had a fantastic time and even captured some pretty cool pictures. Here is just a few.

The weather here has been beautiful. So Thursday Mason and I headed to the zoo. Who would have thought all those animals were still outdoors?!? Not I! I forgot to bring my other lens so I didn't get the best shots, but I particularly liked this one of Mason.

I am working on a new kit that I am just loving! I can't wait until it is finsihed as the ideas are just a flowing and I have a HUGE plan in the works once this one is done! I mean huge.

PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE

RESULTS ARE IN........
So I missed the chat last night in which they were going to announce the results as we were all at the gym. The whole house (Mason excluded, lol) all started the YOU diet yesterday. I made one of the soups for lunch yesterday and did up some individual bags of the snacks for everyone. (Sister and Brother-in-law are staying here for a few weeks). It is not so muc ha diet but healthy way of eating. I highly reccommend it. Your not left hungry, or sacraficing points to endulge or counting calories. You have more than one option for meals and snacks. to give you an example yesterday we ate;
breakfast - bowl of cheerios or Kashi
handful of fruit
coffe, tea or apple juice
snack - fruit and handful of nuts
lunch - soup
snack - veggies
dinner - spicy (turkey) chilli
snack - pita slices
So it's not really very hard. So anyways when I returned home, I had a private message waiting. I got second place. I recieved 6 beautiful kits from the store. Being the competitive person that I am, I am always up for a challenge and so I just really enjoyed trying new things with my Lo's.
So now back to the designing. I was considering having a new guest CT call, that could turn into possible CT status. If your interested go ahead and email me with a link to your gallery. :)

MJ DAY

Today has been ad day all about Mason. I have spent most of it, playing, bathing, feeding, and playing some more with. Not unlike most days really, but just with even more attention. We had so much fun laughing and playing. He really is quite the character. Here are a few of the pictures we took of him with his toy glasses on and spiked up hair...

The other day my sister put Mase up on the rooftop of his Step 2 "cabin". I grabbed a hammer and his Daddy's work hat and to work he went. I then grabbed the camera.

Done my LO for the Trendsetter final round that is. What a relief.
Are

Well I can honestly say I did not know where to begin. I started by creating the Magazine cover (and thought that would be my LO) To create it I used a picture of the city, made it black and white and applied a filter to it to make it look like a coloring book. I duplicated the color photo and lowered the opacity and put it on top to bring a tiny bit of color back. I inserted an extracted picture of my DS playing with a car. I then applied a mask to make it appear as though he is coming from behind part of the buildings. I added a picture of my own minivan (hard to see) and put it in his hand. I added the Magazine Title. “Don’t Touch Weekly” (Instead of In Touch Weekly).

Then I got the idea to use a picture of my DS reading and insert the photo. (A photo in a photo, is there anything more trendy than that?) So I found a photo that I had of him reading this oversized Dictionary at about 9 months old. I then placed the magazine in the book and warped it and used perspective to make it appear as though it was actually in the book (not flat). I used a mask to make sure you could see his hand flipping the page. I wanted him to stand out, so I blurred the background, duplicated, made it black and white and then duplicated the color version, blurred it and lowered it’s opacity to bring back a bit of colour. I added shadows on the paper for realism. I then added a paperclip to “fasten” the magazine to the book.
Then I found the perfect elements. The leather book and fastners. I put together the book, and placed the photo in that. I added a few layer properties and warp and perspective. I copied a duplicate layer (as the back cover and adjusted it. I added other papers inside to sort of hang out and warped them.
I then used a paper (kinda table clothe like) for the background. I applied a gradient. Added the overlay, duplicated it, recolored the duplicate. Added a copy of his reading material (the magazine) applied warp and perspective.
Found a perfect quote. “We are what we read” by Mark Crispin Miller. I thought it was perfect as he is reading a magazine about himself. LoL. I used the alpha to spell out READ and applied a few layer properties to it to make it stand out. Then I added the journaling.

I think this qualifies as “trendy” as I used so many different effects and styles; from warping, perspective, picture in picture, quote, fasteners, curl, stamp, black and white photo, color photo, overlays, grunge, extraction, masks, journaling, blur, realism and various elements and papers.

I really enjoyed this DSP Trendsetter Contest as it forced me to let the creative juices and see where it would take me. To look at what I have to work with and just have fun with it!

I am almost done my most recent kit as well! And would you believe this, I actually used the color pink in it!
So yesterday Mason had a bit of a meltdown while he was in the daycare at the gym so I got called out of the gym to go and get him. I knew right away what the problem was. I have never seen him that upset. I guess it is because we usually meet his need and know what it is he wants. I can just see him now, squashing his little hand "signing milk" and no one understanding. He was so frusterdated. As soon as I gave him his milk he was fine. Good thing too as we had a haircut appoiment an hour later. So we went to grab a pita for lunch, got his haircut and he went home for his nap. So today we went to gym and stories and then I had the babysitting booked (so I could go to the gym). I came equipped with 2 bottles of milk, water and snacks. Sure enough just as i finished my 30 minutes on the bike, the same guy comes up to me to tell me Mason is fussing again! Great! So now they say to book him n for only 30 minutes (instead of 90) until he works back up to being there. Apparently he just kept going to the door wanting out and crying. I hope it's just a phase as I am really enjoying the gym.

TRENDSETTER ROUND #3
Guess who has made it to the final round of the 2007 Trendsetter contest at DSP? That's right, yours truly. Now the biggest problem is I think I have used up all my creative juices on my last 2 LO's. This particular round allows for alot more freedom, which normally might be great. but for me too much freedom leads to no decisions. Oh what to do. I have one idea, but not a picture to use. I always think a GREAT picture(s) really helps make a great LO. Now do I take some new pictures or use old ones. I only have until Saturday to figure it all out. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! I have some of Mason playing basketball that I was considering using, or I might like to take one of him playing with his toys.....

So (to answer your questions Julie) Mason was fantastic at the dentist. I sat him on my lap facing me and the doctor came in front of us and leaned him back onto his leg (sounds weird now lol) and then he stuck one of his fingers to the back of his mouth to keep the mouth propped open so he could examine. Mason was perfect. It took all of a few minutes. Then Mason got to pick a toy dinosaur. Wouldn't you know it he choose the pink one! lol. They also gave us a toothbrush (finger brush) and floss. They taught me the best way to brush his teeth is to prop the mouth open like the doc did. His teeth look great. :).
Just got in from swimming. It has been far too long since I have attended the gym regularly and the scales varified that. Well no more. I think I will be going twice tomorrow. Go once during the day and again in the evening with everyone else. I wont overdo it (I hope). I recieved a wonderful call today from a good friend back in Orillia. She is getting married and would like Mason to be the ring bearer!! I am so excited! I even went out today to find a job, so that I can surely afford to go! It motivates me even more to get into better shape, as I will be walking him down the isle!

Oh and I have a sale on all my items at Digitals and TDS until the end of Janurary.

ROUGH START...

So we all woke up this morning to the phone ringing at 5 am. As it turns out the office at our main branch (DH's company) was broken into last night and gutted. That just put a terrible feeling in my stomache. I just dont know how people could do such a thing.
I took Mason to his first "stories and gym" time today. The lady running it was so amazing! I was sad to hear it would be her last time. I just cant imagine how the new person could compare. She did songs, and stories and plays and sign language to boot! I was so impressed. Then we went to Mason's first dentist appointment. It was at the dentist for children in which they encourage people to take their children for their first appointment before their first birthday. Well I called to get an appointment before his first birthday, does that count? I know some dentist wont see children until they are 3 or 4. I was glad to have him in, and to possibly prevent any future problems. He has alot of teeth, but the dentist said there are more about to pop through.
So Did you know that Janurary 11th is Milk Day?
While Mason went down for a nap I was able to complete a LO I started. I didn't use a kit at all, just made things I needed as I went along (like I always used to before I started designing) I kinda miss doing LO's like that. Just letting the creative juices flow. Anyways here is what I made. I played with the pictures to make it all look like a colored pencil drawing. What do you think? I completed this with an idea from Katie the Scrapbook lady's "A Month of Memories" Magazine.

I have one more LO to complete, then I get to work on a kit.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED
I got tagged by the lovely Lena Brandenburg. The challenge is to reveal five secrets. Just five? lol. Sorry folks, I dont think I have too many secrets. OK I will try.
1. I have a secret passion for chocolate. Ok it's no secret to those around me, but to most of you paerhaps.
2. I love reality tv. Oh it's true, if I have a choice what to watch, reality tv tops it!
3. I also love and have been watching All My Children since I was a child. I remember playing hooky in highschool when I just could not miss and episode.
4. I was susspended in highschool! I was on the honours roll, and suspended. lol. Its a long funny story, but to sum it up I was on a highschool trip to Quebec City. We were caught drinking on the trip (I was of age but they wanted to set an example)so the teachers gave me a long weekend.
5. 5 Already? Oh this was not so hard. Or wait...I really cant think of another. OK, I dont like cats. For almost as long as I can remember I have been allergic. I did have a kitten once when I was a child, for about a day. But since then, I have learnt to dislike them. Sorry!

ROUND 2
So I made it to round 2 of the Trendsetter contest. I have been unable to update lately as I have had internet troubles. The service rep. should be here today to fix the problem. So I did mange to scrap a LO for Round 2 of the Trendsetter contest. For this assignment I was to use more than 1 photo, the 2 kits provided, and alter at least one of the photos. And of course make a "trendy" eye catching LO. So this was my attempt at that.

All is well here. Mason is cracking me up lately with his face making. He is testing us now. He will hit me, then watch my face as I react by saying and signing "NO" and well I guess I must sort of make a mean looking face as he then immitates my face. LOL, its so cute that I can't help but laugh.
I woke up yesterday with a very stiff back and neck. Lovely. So we had to miss swimming lessons today, and stick close to home. I am going a bit stir crazy. But I guess it gives me time to scrap! :)

TREND SETTER ROUND ONE

I dont know what got into me, but I just completed a LO for round one of the trend setter contest. I was given a lovely photo and kit to work with and I was suppose to create a unique eye catching LO. This is what I made.

We had a wonderful New Years in the Rockys. It was beautiful. All my pictures are still in raw format, but I will get some posted asap. As if I am not busy enough, I have taken on a few new roles. I am now on Stephanie Ogren's creative team as well as Katie the Scrapbook Lady's Guest CT for this month. So now that I have my Trend Setter LO complete I have to creat a LO with inspiration from Katie the Scrapbook Ladies "A Month of Memories" Magazine. As soon as I saw it, I was inspired! I cant wait to get started.

CHRISTMAS EVE
So Christmas Eve was nice. Quieter than we were used to. As I was saying we let Mason open a gift.

He just looked so cute in his Christmas sleeper we bought him.

We have had some sad news that my DH's Nan is in the hospital after having a mild heart attack. I cannot put in to words the kind of woman this is but I can tell you at 88 she goes to Curves (gym) and Church everyday. She has over 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and does not forget any of them. Anyone who meets her absolutely falls in love with her. In fact a good friend of mine who went there for my Wedding was brought to tears when leaving her as she felt she was just like her own Grandmother. We are all thinking of her throught our holidays.

Well I should get ready for bed, as I think we are heading out to the Boxing day sales really early tomorrow morning. Any earlier and they could call it Christmas Day! Happy Holidays everyone!

MERRY CHRISMTAS TO ALL...
And how was your day? Mine was fantastic. I was completly blown away with the gifts I recieved. I must have been a good girl! I got a new portrait lens (50mm 1.4) for low light indoor shots. I played around with it a bit today. Here is Mason sniffing his Uncle Richards Axe deoderant. Apparently even he thinks it smells great! He kept walking around making a huge sniff noise!

I also got a circular polarizer filter for my 24-105 lens. It will help to get better outdoor photos. (Bluer skys, etc.) So that I will get to play with when we go to the Mountains for New Years. (If I can wait that long)
I also got Manfrotto tripod and ball head! Not sure if anyone is hinting that I should start making money with all this equipment or what? I am so very excited. Now if I could just convince Mom to move here and start a business with me!
Speaking of Mom she got me the Canon 30D Digital Field Guide. This book is great!

We figured Mason would be more interested in the wrap and boxes but actually he was quite interested in his gifts and what was inside his wrap. It was an absolute joy watching him open his gifts! Slowly ripping the paper and looking up at our reactions.

That was not the story last night when we let him open one gift....

CALL IT A BAD DAY!
It started out great. Woke up a bit late. Mason was already up and downstairs with Daddy, Uncle Andy and Aunt Kelly. So nice to wake up and have them here. So Kelly and I make the plans as to where we are going to go shopping and what it is that we need. First we take Mason to the Doctor's to get him checked out (nasty cough and congestion). 1 1/2 hour wait, so we wander to the grocery store then back and wait for about 30 minutes when I realize Mason needed to be changed. I asked the Secretary to use the washroom and find that the washroom had no change table. No biggie I thought and asked her if I could use one of the rooms. To my utter shock she said NO! I then mentioned that there is no change table in the washroom, and I needed to change him. She still said no not until your called! I could not believe it. So he is suppose to sit in a soiled diaper at the doctors office? What kind of place is this. So I say take me off the list I am leaving. As I am walking to the van, I realize I could change him in the van and go back in. That I do, get back on the list and wait, blood boiling. I sit patiently waiting to see the doctor and tell him/her about my experience with the secretary. I ask him if this doctors office is not equipped to handle children. "yes we are" he says.
Oh well, I said there is no change table in the washroom and I was unable to go anywhere to change him. "No we are not set up for that" he says as he simply walked away. I am still in SHOCK! My old Doctor's office in Ontario was so fantastic. Letting me stay longer to breastfeed or change Mason all the time. This place was a disgrace! Sorry about the vent!
So as it turns out, Mason has bronchitis.
On a better note, a young man came knocking on my door yesterday wanted to sell some magazines to help support him going to school. So when I opened the door, he asked "Are your parent's home?" I’m not going to lie to you, I was a little thrown. I am the parent I said and we both laughed. So I bought a subscribed to a few magazines, since I am always buying them anyways. I am anxiously awaiting for American Photo, Fitness, and Parents magazine! Can’t wait.
So needless to say we did not get much shopping done, aside from what we got at the grocery store. It is so hard with Mason right now wanting to be so independent, that I think we will wait for the boys to get home before we venture out.
Last night I was on a designing roll! I have just about completed my Travel kit. It is beautiful, if I do say so myself. I am going to make an album (group of quick pages out of it) soon too, so you will be able to quickly make an album for a particular trip. Anyways, I should go see how Kelly is doing, as she is wrapping a bunch of gift! I cannot wait till she sees what we got for her!

ME!
My designing and scrap block has vanished. I actually completed a LO the other day, and get this...it is one about ME! I made it for this weeks digi-dare. I have not participated in it before, but thought I should give it a go. I set up my tripod and tried taking a few photos of myself. Then I got to work. Found this cute kit hanging out on my hard drive, and thought I would give it a go. So this is what I came up with.

It is 2am and I can't sleep. Each time i lay my head on the pillow to go to sleep I *hear* my little boy crying. I get up to find he is not, but then again as soon as I lay my head down.....So I got right up instead. Then I really did hear him coughing alot in his bed, so Iwent up to check on him and then he woke right up and i got to rock him to sleep. I missed him tonight as my Brother babysat him and put him to bed while Kurt and I were out shopping. That was weird for me. I think now that I got to hold him and put him back to sleep, I will be able to do the same!

SHOPPING SHOPPING AND MORE SHOPPING

So when did Christmas become so commercialized anyways, and is it getting worse? I have been out every night this week shopping and I am so tired of it! Shopping with a Toddler is hard work! Speaking of that Toddler of mine, here are a few board books I just had to get for him today.

For those of you who dont know. We have been teaching Mason sign language since he was about 6 months. I sort of gave up or stopped about a month ago and he just started signing things to me! I was sooo excited! I just love teaching and learning a new language myself, with him. It is a wonderful experience. So anyways these are board books that have babies as the subject. It has for example a baby on one side eatting. Then on the other side it shows the baby signing "eat". along with the word EAT. I just love it!
I have been stocking the house with food too. My sister and brother-in-law get here on the 19th and my Mom on the 23! I cannot wait.
So after my TDS chat tonight I realize I have alot to do. My very first chat is coming up, with all kinds of freebies so stay tuned or "tuned in" as my brother would say.

IT WAS HIM, THE REAL HIM!
So we met up with some friends last night and took Mason to see Santa. It was not his first time. (Trying to dig up last years picture for you) I had to laugh as the "elf" was telling us
"1-3 year olds are the worst! So we are going to have to have Santa lying down, you will back in, place him in his right arm and run behind." I told her that he had already seen Santa this year and was fine, wavingat everyone. She said
"well that was last year, this year will be worse"
No I said that was this year.
She did not listen and proceeded to babble about how bad the 1-3 year olds are.
That was only last week! I said.
"oh, well that does not mean it will be like that this time"
Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!
But despite that silly elf, I was quite happy with the picture! A professional photographer who knew what they were doing! Worth every penny. Don't ya think? Now to get it into a frame!

WHATS THAT SMELL?
Well nothing yey, but I am planning on heading downstairs to start some holiday baking! I was at a playgroup today and Cheryl had all kinds of great goodies already made. Sort of inspired me to get going I guess. Tonight we are planning on taking Mason to go see Santa. Yes he kinda saw him at our Christmas Party but I did not have the camera set up properly so to the mall we go. Now i just hope he will be just as cute as he was last time.

WAKE UP CALL
When are you going to clue in Kell? Kelly is my sister and when she is on her days off she loves to call me first thing in the morning. That used to be sort of ok when I lived only 20 minutes from her. But now, I live across the Country, with a 2 hour time difference. I guess it didn't help that I was up until 2am either. *YAWN*
So I am about to head down and feed Mason some brreakfast, but I just could not walk on by the computer. Just like Stephaine said, it pulls me in!
Oh and about Mason's love for Brooms. As we were leaving the Y yesterday, he noticed the janitors cart, with a broom. For those of you who dont know, he LOVES brooms. We even got him his very own kids one that does not leave his hand, unless we are going somewhere. So he sees this dirty old broom and wants it. Kicks up a fuss and I have to carry him out. I know, he is only 15 months. But he prefers to walk on his own whenever he can. Same situation at the hairdressers the other day. We were just about in the clear as I was paying for his cut, when the lady comes out with a broom in her hand. Then she oh so kindly hands it to him. He 'sweeps' then of course does not want to give it up. So I have to carry him out yet again, kicking and screaming...
Today, I dont know. Already showered, getting hungry, some cleaning and maybe some designing. We will see.

Blah
I am in need of some serious lessons. How do you all do it? Design, update blog, catch up on forums and emails...then cook, clean, and take care of children. Am I missing something? I sit down to design, but first check my email, 30 minutes later DST, the next thing I know I am out of time LOL. I have been working on some cool actions for photos. I posted a few last time but here are a few more.

Now to get working on that kit...although it has been a while since I actually scrapped something.
Oh did I tell you I have a few Guest CT's this month. They are currently busy working with one of my kits and I cant wait to share and see their LO's!

NOW IT"S ME!
So after taking Mason to get his hair cut I stopped off to pick up a few groceries (being customer appreciation day and all!) He was started to get tired a little early I guess as he had what I would call his first public tantrum! Now I am that Mother. You know the one who has no control over their screaming child. LOL. I didn't mind a bit. In fact I think I was happy to be that Mother! I knew what he wanted, and he just wasn't going to get it. He did not want to be in the "car" cart anymore. He did not want to be held. He simply wanted down and to run around and explore. This was not possible as I was trying to load and pay for our groceries. This was the first time he could not be distracted what-so-ever. He just wasn't having it.
We are honoured to have been asked if we will "take care of" my cousin's children, should something happen to them. We are the GodParents to one of the girls and simply adore (from across the country) the other. I certainly hope nothing ever happens to them as parents cannot be replaced. But they can be sure, should something happen, we would care for them like they were our own.
I finally got out the Christmas parcels I had to send. One is for our God-Daughter and her sister and the other for our God-Son and his siblings. Oh how I wish we lived closer to them all!
As far as my designing goes, I have been working on perfecting some of my actions to possible put up for sale. Travel kit is started too but I have been "playing around" with my photography lately. Wanna see a few pics I took yesterday of my Sister-in-law?

Tree Time
Well I told you a few days ago that we decorated the tree already. So finally here is a shot. Keep in mind it was difficult to take a good night shot as I have garland lights that are close together, so when creating the star effect, they just look clumped.

So much to do, and so little time. The story of my life. I have to mail off some Christmas gifts today for my God-Children and their siblings....pick up some stamps for my holiday cards....buy a few gifts for our family in Newfoundland....oh my I better get going on it!

Do you feel it?

That Christmas feeling has hit me and hit me hard this year! Maybe it is because Mason is at an age (15 mos) he might enjoy it a bit (well more than last years anyways). I am so excited to be buying gifts for him. Somebody stop me. No seriously, it's not like he needs anything else. But it is just so fun. We put our tree up on Sunday and decorated the house. It looks so nice in all blue, white and silver! I should grab a decent photo of it soon for you all soon.
I bought the cutest little Christmas outfit for Mason the other day at Children Place.

So I had Mason wear it when we went to our Calgary Mom's Christmas Party. It was WAY TOO CUTE. All the other Toddlers ahead of us were scraming when placed in Santas arms. When it was Mason's turn, he sat down and started waving at everyone. As you can see here, I unfortunately did not have my camera on the right settings.

Mase is so much fun right now. He points at everything now. Waves bye-bye. Runs to Daddy's arms when he gets home saying "Dad, Dad.." Gives the best hugs and kisses (well maybe not the BEST kisses right now with his runny nose, lol). Climbs up and down the stairs, loves sweeping with the broom. Actually we got him his very own childrens broom last night and it did not leave his hands since. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and woke in a quick scare, looked at his hand to see if his broom was still there. LOL. What a sweetie!

SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING
Ready or not, Santa is on his way. And would you believe that I have not even started my Christmas shopping? Usually I am just about done by now. I guess I am not sure just how much we have to spend this year. I dont really WANT anything myself. All I care about is Mason. Even though I have not a clue what to get him?! He has so much toys as it is. He is almost 14 months now and toys are either too babish for him or he is not suppose to have them yet (too young).

CLOTHING CLUB
Ever heard of one? Well I joined one and I am about to head off to it now. To sum it up. 12 Mothers (who spend all their time worrying about their children and tend to neglect taking care or treating themselves) meet up once a month, add $25 to the pot and one lucky lady goes home with the money. We meet up at a restuarant to show what the last winner bought to "treat themselves" and select a new winner. Anyways I just thought I would post a LO I completed recently and did not post. Hubby was the great photographer that day!

DESIGNING
Well I guess I was unsucessfull in my personal challenge. Mom and I sort of challenged each other to creat a kit with a 24 hour period the other night. Well it was a good day for me, and I did have time to get alot done, I did not complete it. Actually I got side tracked. I did complete my Christmas card. Or at least I think I did. The more I look at it, the more changes I make.

HOME
Where is home? Is it where I grew up? Where I lived for the last 6 years or where I am currently living? You know it's funny but I guess in a way it's all home. But I can say there is nothing like your own place.
We are home sweet home. I never thought i would say that. We have only been living out here for 7 months but it sure is nice to be back home. I guess home can be anywhere. It was a short visite adn we did not get to see everyone we would have liked to, but it was nice.

SAY IT AINT SNOW!

Yes it's true! We got a dump load of snow here in Calgary, Alberta yesterday. It was Mason's first real time playing out in it. He was not a big fan of the bulky snowsuit, but he did have some fun. He is paying for it today though with a bit of a runny nose :(.
Going away for a few days on Wednesday. Will be back with tons of pictures next week! Working on a few different kits right now. A Winter one, Christmas one, Christmas Baking one...

I was driving down the street this morning and I had to take a second look. One of my neighbors, get this, has their Christmas tree up! Lights I can understand, but TREE??? Is this not October. Does someone want to tell them Christmas is December 25th not October 25th?
So I had an allergy test done today, and the Doc. said I have some of the worst allergies he has seen in a long time! Yikes! But that is why I was there. It is time I start getting some shots.

WHY, WHY, WHY?

Why is it when I'm running around with a million things on my mind that I end up doing stupid things like working out in the gym, with tons of active people around me with my shorts on inside out?! Luckily was was not too obvious unless you count the tag hanging off my a**! It ttok me long enough to clue in. First I was on the stair climber, then the eliptical, then doing some ball exercises, weights, then finishing off with a few stretches and what's this? My short are on inside out!!! Oh my!
Then I had another dentist appointment today.
Why is it when I tell them that I take more than the average amount of freezing that they never believe me? Why do I have to feel the pain of them drilling into my teeth!!! They did end up giving me more, and I am fine now. Not looking forward to going back anytime soon though.
Finally got my latest kit up into the store and I plan or working away on my newest kit some more tonight. I really want to get this one out there as we have already had our first snow fall. hint, hint....

GO GO GO
Finally went back to the gym today. It was I'm sure 2 weeks since I made it last! YIKES! It's amazing how quickly you can fall out if it, isn't it? It felt great to ge back there today. After my work-out I brought Mason to the Playtime at the gym. They set it all up for the toddlers to play around with the rubber balls, and playmats etc. He had a great time. We pickedu p a few things to fill up the fridge and then headed back home. Mason went for his nap while I cleaned the house, did laundry and a bit of Roof Rite work. It will soon be time to put the roast in, and get supper going. Yum! It's is a pretty big roast so I am really looking forward to a roast beef sandwich tomorrow for lunch.
With so many playgroups, appointments, and activites for Mason, our schedule is overflowing. I find myself tying having to switch appointment etc. But busy is good. Tomorrow we have swimming, then right ot the library for Storey Time. And Gymboree in the afternoon. Mason is not going without that is for sure! The only thing I miss is some time to design and scrap. I have my Birthday Kit done. Here is a preview.

WHATS THAT SMELL???
Why is it that even though I have been a stay-at-home Mom now for over a year that weekends still have a different feel about them then the weekdays. The boys are working again this weekend, and yet it just doens't feel like another day, but like a SATURDAY. Do you know what I mean? So Mase and I went around shopping this morning. First thing, TOYRUS. Did you get your flyer? They are having a BIG sale. I managed to get Mason a few "Little People" sets for Christmas.
I got him the Circus and the Ramps Around Garage.

I am just not sure I can wait that long! Teeehee.
Then we went to Co-op and Mason had his Kids Club card to use for the first time. I was kind of excited for him, only it wasn't at all that exciting. You see if he brings his cards around to the different departments he is suppose ot get a little something. (piece of fruit, band-aid, cookie..) Well he did get a fruit-to-go, that was about it. A little dissapointing to say the least.
Then I came home, put Mase down for his nap and got hte urge to BAKE! I just cooking and baking. SO in the oven now is a banana nut, and soon to be chocolate fudge frosted cake. I just know Kurt will love that for dessert! I also have some beautiful steaks marinating in the fridge. We buy fresh beef from a Famer here, and let me tell you it is like nothing else!
Anyways, off to start my new Holiday kit!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CANADA
What did you do to celebrate? Today, after putting the turkey in and the salt beef on....we headed to another beautiful park to go for a walk. There really is so many beautiful parks here in Calgary! AUTUMN
It was a beautiful Fall day here in Calgary today. My favorite Season of all! So since dh was working, Mason and I headed to the Park for a walk and of course some pictures! Mason is at an amazing age right now, where everything is so new to him. So I enjoy capturing these moments on film. Well not film, but on disk I guess you would say these days, it just doesnt have that same ring though does it, lol. It worked out perfect. He was ready for a nap when we got home and so I had time to scrap a LO of the day! Here is what I made...

LOVE HURTS...
No I am not going to break out into some sappy personal story. I actually just got back from the Nazareth conecert. :) It was awesome! It was our very first time getting a babysitter too! I was nervous let me tell ya, but I honestly cannot remember the last time I let loose so the speak. Anyone who knows me, would tell you I dont let loose often. Well unless you count year back. I have become a little uptight and anal over the years, but I guess settling down, getting married and having a child can do that to you, or at least that is what I like to think LOL. Now I just cant wait to go out again sometime soon :)

MY BOY IS 1 YEAR OLD!

PLAY GROUP
Mason and I had a wonderful day today. We sort of slept in a bit, then went to our first Play Group here in Calgary. It was great, I met a great group of Mom's and Mason had a good time watching the other children and playing with some different toys. We did a quick grocery shop and then Mason went down for a nap while I cleaned the house. When he woke we went for a walk and to the park, where I took this pic.

Oh and I took him to get his pictures taken last week. Here are a few from that.

I am slowly but surely plucking away at my birthday kit and it is big. I know I am running out of time to have it done by Mason's birthday, and I have company coming Wednesday. Maybe I can get it done by Wednesday. Oh and lets not forget what is starting back up Thursday night, GREYS ANATOMY! YEAH! CANT WAIT!

Well I finally got some time to design and scrap all in one night! You will just have to hold tight for the design part, as it is just about done and it is huge. I will be deviding it up into a kit, quick pages, freebies etc.

HALLOWEEN
Well I have to confess, Halloween is my most favorite holiday! I just love it when everyone dresses up and has a great time. I love seeing unique costumes and making my own. I did not go out last year as I just had Mason, but the year before we had a blast!!!! twenty-something smurfs walking into the bars singing "la la la la la la..." Perhaps you can picture it!
